Star International Academy is a public, non-discriminatory, independent school, authorized by Oakland University, which admits students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to its college-preparatory program serving families in the Greater Detroit area. It is operated by staff who is highly qualified, certified and experienced group of professional men and women who earned their degrees at numerous colleges and universities throughout the United States and internationally.

The Public School Academy aims at providing its students with quality education that focuses on the Michigan core curriculum and international cultures, including the study of a language, culture and history different from one’s own. The Academy shall provide an education that will enable the various ethnic traditions, values, and experiences of students to enrich and nurture one another.

Star International Academy is pleased to announce that it is now an IB World School authorized to offer the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) in grades 6-10.

The International Baccalaureate curriculum provides students with a rigorous, internationally recognized program which focuses on critical thinking skills, collaboration skills, and communication skills involving at least two languages of study. Star International Academy will continue to work toward full implementation of IB programs Prek-12, and is currently embarking on the implementation of the IB Primary Years Program (PYP) in grades K-5 and eventually at the Diploma Years level in grades 11-12. Star International Academy is proud to be in the select group of IB schools in Michigan.
