Star International Academy is in the process of implementing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP) in grades 6-10 for the second academic year in a row! The school is committed to training teachers in the IB curriculum and all teachers are working diligently to integrate MYP strategies and assessment into their planning and instruction. The IB standards go hand and hand with the Michigan Curriculum Framework and Grade Level Content Expectations.
Students will benefit from this well internationally recognized philosophy of teaching, promoting student centered classrooms, educating students on character education traits, and enable them to make interdisciplinary and international ties with the content they gain! Star has its MYP Authorization Visit in the Spring of 2009 and after being successfully authorized we will begin the process toward implementing the IB Diploma Program in grades 11-12. Our long term goal of implementing the International Baccalaureate Program from K-12th grade is forth coming in the years to come!
